The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa Program, created in 1990 by the Immigration Act of 1990, provides a method for eligible Immigrant Investors to become lawful permanent residents—informally known as “Green Card” holders — by investing substantial capital to finance a business in the United States that will create or preserve 10 permanent full-time jobs for qualified U.S. workers.
Re-authorization of Regional Center Program progressed as expected, and the U.S. Congress passed the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act on March 11, 2022. Redefined by the new legislation, the minimum EB-5 investment amount is now USD 800,000 for Targeted Employment Areas and Rural Areas and USD 1.05M for Non-Targeted Employment Areas for both regional center and direct EB-5 investments. The opportunity of this immigration based job creation & economic growth program remains as the faster path to citizenship than other visas and with lower requirements comparing with other present EB programs.
